Forecasts indicate 30 mph gusts and persistent wet conditions. While the home team is accustomed to this weather, it could also diminish the strategic advantage if the US adapts quickly. Ryder Cowan, an amateur golfer, was spotted in a rain jacket during practice – a sign that even experienced players face challenges. Systemically, the Walker Cup is a biennial team event co-organized by the R&A and USGA. No OWGR points, no prize money, but national pride is a powerful motivator. Captain Robertson is fully leveraging the 'home advantage' narrative to pressure the visitors. From an analytical perspective, over-reliance on home-course familiarity could be a double-edged sword.
